Laboratory – Academy Animal Hospital has a full in-house laboratory complete with fecal centrifugation, CBC analyzer, microscope, Dif-Quik staining for cytology, chemistry analyzer, X-ray machine and processor, MetRx otoscope, EKG, and ultrasound. We also utilize an outside laboratory for bloodwork or routine wellness screening as well as consultation and other diagnostic tests.
Bloodwork – Complete blood counts and some chemistry profiles can be performed in-house. We also make use of an outside laboratory for a variety of other diagnostic tests. Preoperative bloodwork can be done the day of a surgical procedure for the owner’s convenience.
Radiology – X-rays can be performed during normal business hours. We also have a radiologist that comes to our office to read films and do special procedures.
Ultrasonography – If your pet is in need of an ultrasound, Academy does have its own ultrasound machine. In addition, the radiologist visits our office on a routine basis and ultrasounds can be scheduled at that time. Special procedures such as ultrasound-guided biopsies can also be done with the radiologist.
